About the company
Wallenius Wilhelmsen is a 160-year-old start-up, aiming for zero-emission shipping and logistics solutions. We are a market leader in RoRo (Roll on Roll off) shipping and vehicle logistics, and our job is to connect and expand sustainable world trade, with assets and services that take care of everything from the procurement of materials through to products reaching the end customer.
At sea, we have more than 130 vessels operating 15 trade routes across six continents, together with a global inland distribution network, more than 66 processing centers, and 8 terminals. Our global family consists of 8,900 people across 29 countries who are working on vessels and at ports, processing centers, and offices.
About the opportunity
As a publicly listed company with Norwegian roots and a leading global position in shipping, Wallenius Wilhelmsen is uniquely positioned to lead a major industry shift. The shipping and logistics sector is facing a growing demand for digitally integrated solutions across an increasingly complex and fragmented supply chain. By moving from siloed offerings to tailored, seamless services that adapt to each client’s needs, we aim to set a new standard in the industry. This transformation, led by our Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) unit, is a cornerstone of our company strategy. A critical enabler of this shift is the Product Accelerator program, which ensures that both standalone services and integrated solutions are managed in a consistent and future-oriented way.
To support this journey, we are now seeking a Manager Product Strategy & Governance. The role will be central in building the foundation for smarter product development by defining the taxonomies, structures, and governance frameworks that align products across business units and enable integrated supply chain solutions.
The job
As Manager Product Strategy & Governance, you will translate this vision into practice by driving concrete initiatives that create clarity and consistency across teams. Your main responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining a unified product taxonomy across SCS and Product Accelerator, ensuring it reflects strategic priorities and supports effective delivery
Designing and implementing governance frameworks for product lifecycle management and pricing structures, embedding principles across both standalone and integrated solutions
Promoting structured ways of working across product teams and ensuring alignment with the Digital Delivery Organization (CDO/DDO)
Facilitating collaboration between SCS, Product Accelerator, and CDO workstreams, supporting key initiatives such as SCS 2.0
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a strategic product thinker with a solid understanding of product strategy, governance, and lifecycle management. You are skilled at aligning diverse stakeholders and driving structured ways of working, and bring experience from digital product development in industrial or logistics environments, ideally with exposure to complex ecosystems. As a strong communicator, you are able to translate complex frameworks into clear and actionable insights for both internal and external stakeholders.
Must-haves:
4+ years of experience from product strategy, governance, lifecycle management or relevant projects in management consulting.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives and establish structured ways of working.
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment.
Relevant higher education, preferably at master’s level.
Nice-to-haves:
Solid understanding of industry dynamics in shipping and logistics (market drivers, customer expectations, competition).
Familiarity with product taxonomy frameworks or governance models.
Experience identifying opportunities for innovation and growth, and developing strategies aligned with business goals.
Background from digital product development in industrial or logistics contexts.
