To support this ambition, we are looking for a VP Key Account Manager to lead the strategic development of some of our most important global customer relationships, driving growth, profitability, and long-term value creation across the full Wallenius Wilhelmsen portfolio.

About the role
As VP Key Account Manager, you will hold one of the most strategic commercial roles within Wallenius Wilhelmsen, leading the long-term growth and development of a select portfolio of major global accounts. You will own the commercial strategy and overall customer relationship for 2 - 4 key global customers, depending on size and complexity, with full responsibility for delivering on ambitious revenue, profitability, and growth targets across Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s global business portfolio.
This is a highly visible senior leadership role, requiring the ability to operate confidently at executive and C-level, both internally and externally. You will act as the customer’s primary strategic partner, building trusted long-term relationships while orchestrating cross-functional teams across regions, business units, and functions to ensure a seamless global customer experience.
The role also plays a critical part in shaping future business opportunities by translating customer insights, market intelligence, and supply chain trends into new commercial initiatives, service development, and innovation opportunities across Shipping, Logistics, and Supply Chain Services.

Key responsibilities
Own and execute the global account strategy for assigned key customers, ensuring long-term growth, profitability, and customer retention
Build strong executive-level relationships and position Wallenius Wilhelmsen as a trusted strategic partner
Drive commercial performance across the full product portfolio through business development, cross-selling, and strategic opportunity management
Lead global tenders, RFQs, and complex commercial negotiations in close collaboration with internal stakeholders
Coordinate cross-functional teams across regions and business units to deliver a seamless and consistent customer experience
Oversee account governance, performance reviews, forecasting, and resolution of critical customer escalations
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and corporate requirements
Background
Master’s degree preferred; minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
10 - 15 years of relevant experience within shipping, logistics, supply chain, or related industries
Proven experience from senior commercial, customer-facing, or global key account management roles
Strong track record managing complex global customers, commercial negotiations, and long-term strategic partnerships
Core competencies
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to drive growth, profitability, and long-term customer value
Experienced in developing and executing global account strategies in complex matrix organizations
Strong business acumen with understanding of global supply chains, logistics operations, and market dynamics
Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills across executive and cross-functional stakeholders
Ability to lead and align global teams across regions, functions, and business units
